Improved Font Features In ROES With Template Creator
 Fonts in Template Tool
As you may have heard by now, Natural Color recently upgraded the Template Creator (TC) in our ROES software with the addition of a new Font button. This new Font button allows you to access and select any of the local system fonts currently installed on the computer in your home or studio. To take advantage of this exciting new feature, we have enabled the TC for use on our Photographic and new Press Photo Greeting Card templates. This change required the removal of the Text Font, Text Style and Text Color options under the Options palette. The end result gives you greater creative control over your greeting cards beyond the limitations of the 16 fonts and 24 colors previously offered. It will also allow you to shadow the text after selecting one of the available fonts for use. Above all - it's very easy!
To learn how to control the text on your future greeting card orders, point your browser to http://www.naturalcolorlab.com/roes/ClientGuide/card%20tutorial/index.html for a fully illustrated tutorial that will guide you through the process step-by-step.  Click on any of the screen captures for a more detailed view.  Be sure to bookmark this page for future reference over the course of the holiday season.

Keep an eye on your Inbox for upcoming e-mails announcing some ROES Greeting Card online-based webinars and in-house seminars to be held here at Natural Color in the early fall.

CharlieReady to Print Revisited

If you are using or planning to use our Ready to Print service , your monitor must be calibrated and calibrated correctly. It amazes me how every day people call me and say, "It doesn't look the same on my monitor." I always ask if they have correctly calibrated their monitor. Some say yes and some say no. Some have no idea why they need to calibrate and some are using some obsolete calibrator like a Spider One. Natural Color has many customers using the RTP service successfully because they have taken the time to learn the technology and invest in the proper equipment to properly and efficiently do their job. Learning to color correct your images takes time and practice. Some people can do it and some simply cannot. Babe Ruth may have hit 714 home runs, but he struck out 1,360 times. To help you in calibrating your monitor to the output of Natural Color Lab, we have added a new tab entitled "Test Print" in both the Ready to Print ROES catalog and the Natural ROES catalogs to upload five files to show you what your files are going to look like when they are output by Natural Color Lab. All new customers are using this and mostly doing it successfully. I suggest that EVERYONE using our RTP service try this tab and send in five files to verify that you are getting what you see. There is no charge for this service. I suggest you send an 8x10 monthly to see that your monitor is where you think it is. Everyone's monitor drifts and should be calibrated at least monthly.
